How does a reef dosing calculator use a supplement label?
A label-based reef dosing calculator starts with the effect printed on a supplement: a stated product amount raises one parameter by a stated amount in a reference water volume. ReefDose Card asks the keeper to copy that rule, enter net tank water, add a fresh measured value, and enter a target the keeper has already chosen. It converts tank and label volumes to litres, scales the label amount by the water-volume ratio, then scales again by target minus measurement divided by the label-stated increase. Result shows total dose and every substituted term. If keeper enters a manufacturer-stated maximum, ReefDose divides total into portions no larger than that maximum. If no maximum appears on label, ReefDose shows total but withholds portions. Tool supports raising rules for alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, and phosphate. It does not decide target, assess livestock, or create dosing advice.

Why does sample total equal 16 ml?
Fictional label says 10 ml raises alkalinity by 1 dKH in 100 L. Tank contains 200 L net water. Keeper enters 7.2 dKH measured and 8.0 dKH chosen target. Water ratio is 2; correction ratio is 0.8. Therefore 10 × 2 × 0.8 = 16 ml. Supplied 6 ml maximum produces three displayed portions: 6 ml, 6 ml, and 4 ml.
